After the South Shore Line purchased the Adrian & Blissfield Rail Road in 2022, they wasted no time in trying to convince the ADBF to electrify the Jackson & Lansing Railroad. At merger, the JAIL rostered a collection of GP9s and GP15s, but within 2 years of the merger all of those units (except GP9 #1758, which was rebuilt to a GP9d & kept for switching industries that don’t have clearance for overhead wires) were off the roster, replaced with a handful of class JS & M3 motors.
