When Gatineau, Chelsea, and La Pêche formed the Compagnie de Chemin de Fer de l'Outaouais to operate trains up to Wakefield (on the stub of CP’s Ottawa & Gatineau Valley Railway), they chose the Ottawa Central as their freight operator, which continued up until the floods of 2011 destroyed the line.

The line was never rebuilt, but was lifted as part of a rails to trails project. The OC is still listed on paper as the freight operator, but that’s because nobody has bothered to file the paperwork to officially abandon that service.
