BAR 620 in faded blue dip

When the PV&T purchased the BAR, the BAR brought along a tiny fleet of SW9 locomotives, which were almost immediately replaced by some of the ex-D&H GP38s that had been taken out of service after the D&H merger. The last to go – #620 – lingered until the end of 1990 before it was sold.

Ottawa Valley TRB/NW2B/SW13B in IC-style orange & white

30-odd years later, when the Ottawa Valley Railway became part of the system, a SW13b was included in the pile of locomotives that came along with the purchase. #1570 was 84 years old at the time (it was originally an Illinois Central TRB, but had gone through several rebuilds since 1940) but still in (surprisingly?) excellent condition, so it was marked for preservation, painted in an orange & white paint scheme much like it had when working on the IC, and kept in service as a booster/remote control engine (as the only member of class DL18b.)
