The D&H merger brought along 15 GE U23Bs, which were an unwanted locomotive even before the merger documents were signed. The D&H had been working to find a buyer for them, and only 7 of them lasted long enough to be renumbered into the PV&T numbering scheme before they too went on to pastures greener.
25 years later the P&W merger brought in a single B23-7, which was summarily shoved into a new subclass of the DL14s. Unlike the unfortunate D&H units, P&W #1106 lasted almost 15 years before being retired and donated to a railroad museum.
