This photo shows the inauguration of several new self-propelled passenger trains of the São Paulo Railway (the former name of the E.F. Santos a Jundiaí) in 1934. From the left to the right: an ambulance, the Cometa (Comet), Planeta (Planet) and Estrella (Star) at the Piaçagüera station. These trains were built by Sir Armstrong-Whitworth in England; they used Sulzer diesel motors produced at Sir Armstrong-Whitworth under a Sulzer license. They were used up to the late seventies and then scrapped - their remains still were at Paranapiacaba switchyards. This photo was kindly sent by Alberto Henrique del Bianco, from Indaiatuba SP, to the E.F. Brasil pages. Additional info was kindly supplied by Maurício Torres, from Miami, U.S.A.
