A nocturne view of a G.M. 3,000 HP diesel-electric locomotive SD-40M at the Roosevelt station freight yard of the former E.F. Central do Brasil, in São Paulo city. Four units of this kind of machine were bought from E.M.D. in 1967 and numbered from #3701 to #3704. This photo was shot during the early eighties by Cid José Beraldo, who kindly sent a copy to these pages. The original photo was shot using Kodachrome diapositive film; time exposure: 2 minutes and 30 seconds. The light available came from the lighting tower of the freight yard.
