The class O2 are almost mechanically identical to the original class O motors, except that they use trolley pole pickup instead of a pantograph (they are also multisystem units, but using trolley poles keeps them from roaming.)
Electrically they’re identical; the multi-system power circuit was originally designed to take 600vdc (from third rail) so it was easy to reconfigure to take 600/1500/3000 instead of just 600/3000.
Four have been built for the ORRC; 1079 in Toronto Suburban Railway colours, 1080 in the Hamilton & Brantford’s, and 1487 & 1489 in Lake Erie & Northern colours.
