In 2024, the LT&L and the Canadian Pacific Railway did a joint purchase (50 to CP, 40 to the LT&L) of ILW’s eco-644/80ers dual-power locomotives as part of the CP’s electrification of their route through the Rocky Mountains between Calgary and Vancouver. The LT&L’s units were delivered in 2025, just in time for the electrification to be completed, and went into pool service between Vancouver, Toronto, and the east coast port of St Johns.
