In the late 2010s, ILW purchased the shell of ex-LS&I RSD-12 #1804 from the shipyard that had purchased it for the prime mover, and then let the carcass sit and slowly decay. ILW stripped it down, then remanufactured it as the solitary class DL44 (only 4 other North American RSD-12s exist, and they are in the hands of museums, which are somewhat unwelcoming to the idea of someone gutting their artifacts and making them into modern locomotives) with a new Cummins QSK78 prime mover, an alternator, and a modern AC drivetrain.
When the Parsons Vale acquired the Huron Central, 1370 was one of the locomotives bought to operate the line. It went into service in 2020, and is operating today.
