SD70M’s #1104-1105 came onto the roster when the PV&T purchased the P&W; originally they were placed into the P&W’s temporary classes for engines to be replaced ASAP (as class PWDE1), but instead of that happening they were transferred up to Derby to join the BAR’s fleet of EMD power after the first shipment of electro-diesels arrived.

The 4 basic SD70s that came with the takeover of Groupe I&M were put into class DL36A; they were also sent to the BAR.

They were all retired by 2024.
