When the PV&T and the BAR merged in 1989, there was only one F3 left on the roster (there were two other off-the-roster hulks in the deadline at Derby, but they were not put back into service on the BAR).
632 – BAR 502/42 – remained in service until 2003, when it retired and was sent to Montréal to be placed in the Musée ferrovaire de Parsons Vale
Twenty-one years later, the Parsons Vale merged with the Ottawa Valley Railway, which came with a pair of GMD FP9’s, which were immediately sent to ILW for remanufacturing into F750s; when the returned from ILW they were placed into class DL21a.
