PV&T EF-1's #459 & #460 (formerly CMStP&P # E39D & E47D)

The PV&T class G electric, aka Milwaukee Road EF-1’s E39D (459) & E47D (460), painted in a homage to the one true Milwaukee Road scheme.

These locomotives came into the hands of the PV&T when the Milwaukee Road yanked their electrification & the PV&T shops helped strip the carcass (300 & 301 were passed by because they already had been tried and found wanting, but the GE750 traction motors in them & the other EF-4s were purchased from the scrappers) and while filling gondolas with usable parts inspected the remaining EF-1s and purchased the two that appeared to be in the best shape to take back east as memento mori of a fallen 3kvdc comrade (and as banking engines on the Green Mountain subdivision.)

After 43 years of service on the PV&T (96 years in total), these units were finally retired from service when the complete lack of spare parts had caught up to them, and are currently on a long-term loan to the Illinois Railway Museum.
